In this workshop we will explore the hacking of video consoles to create instruments that allow the generation and manipulation of visuals in real-time, characterized by patterns and glitches originating from games. Participants will be introduced to circuit bending and hardware hacking strategies, exploring in an intuitive and artisanal way the modification of console systems that are already outdated or discarded, Throughout the session there will be direct and creative contact with the electronic interior of the consoles, in the search for and access to new aesthetic possibilities beyond their original functions. The workshop will address the main concepts and techniques behind these hacking strategies, as well as some of the precautions to be taken in the DIY exploration of these electronic devices.
